Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR)

Definition: EGR recirculates a portion of exhaust gases back into the engine intake to reduce combustion temperatures and NOx emissions. It is a primary emissions reduction strategy in Tier 4 Interim and Stage IIIB compliant engines.
