Heavy Equipment Specs Directory
Compare crawler excavators, dozers, wheel loaders, and backhoe loaders by the specs that affect transport planning, fleet cost, jobsite productivity, and maintenance scheduling.
Start with operating weight, net horsepower, fuel burn, hydraulic capacity, dig depth, bucket or blade size, emissions tier, and hourly operating cost. Specs can vary by configuration, serial range, counterweight, track shoe, boom, stick, attachment, and regional emissions package.

How to Compare Heavy Equipment Specs
A model with more horsepower is not automatically the better machine. For construction equipment specs, the useful comparison is weight class plus hydraulic performance, attachment requirements, transport limits, fuel burn, and maintenance exposure.
For excavators, compare operating weight, maximum dig depth, reach, bucket digging force, arm digging force, hydraulic flow, and counterweight configuration. For loaders and dozers, pay closer attention to breakout force or blade capacity, tire or undercarriage setup, duty cycle, and hourly fuel cost.
Before buying, renting, or estimating ownership cost, confirm the exact serial-prefix specification sheet and installed attachment package. A long stick, wide track shoe, quick coupler, auxiliary hydraulics, or regional emissions configuration can change weight, reach, fuel use, and transport planning.
Specs That Affect Jobsite Fit
- Operating weight for trailer class, bridge limits, and ground pressure.
- Maximum dig depth and reach for utility trenching, basement excavation, and mass earthmoving.
- Bucket, blade, or loader capacity for cycle time and truck loading match.
Specs That Affect Ownership Cost
- Fuel consumption in gallons per hour across light, medium, and heavy duty cycles.
- Maintenance interval hours, fluid capacities, DEF requirements, and filter service points.
- Emissions tier, undercarriage wear, tire size, hydraulic oil capacity, and attachment wear parts.
